Miss Alicia Nichelle "Big Mama" Crawford
Community Funeral Home of Center announces services for 29 year old, Miss Alicia Nichelle “Big Mama” Crawford, of Center. Services will be this (Monday) afternoon at two o’clock, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove cemetery. Among Miss Crawford’s survivors are one daughter, Sheatouris Crawford, three brothers, Chris Crawford, Arthis Nickerson, and Stacey Crawford, and one sister, Felicia Michelle Crawford, all of Center. 

Doug Amburn
Doug Amburn, age 62, of Center passed away Sunday, November 13, 2005 at Shelby Regional Medical Center in Center. Services will be 10 am Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel in Center, Texas with burial to follow at Neuville Cemetery in Center, Texas with Bro. Marion Huckaby & Bro. Don Noble officating. Visitation is Tuesday, November 15, 2005 from 4 pm until 9 pm at Mangum Funeral Home. He was born June 25, 1943 in Sabine County to parents, Rube Amburn & Lena Crawford Amburn. He was preceded in Death by his parents: Rube & Lena Amburn. Son, mark Amburn, 4 Brothers, Bonell Amburn, Charles Amburn, Kenneth Amburn and David Amburn. He is survived by; Wife of 40 years, Jeanie Amburn of Center, Son, Micheal Amburn of Center. 3 Grandchildren, Dillon Rash, Taylor Amburn and Camden Amburn. Brothers & Sisters, Tommy Amburn & wife Shirley of Center, Billy Amburn & wife Barbara of Center, Gertie Leach of Center, Pat Hardy & husband Ray of San Augustine, Dixie Cucco of San Augustine, Maxie Chumley & husband Keith of San Augustine and Jane Robbins & husband Kelly of Center. Margaret Cannon Bradberry, 91, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2006 in San Augustine. She was born December 24, 1914 in Shelbyville to Napolean B. Cannon and Cleo Crawford Cannon. Ms. Bradberry was a mother and grandmother. She served as secretary and treasurer of the Shelbyville Water Supply for 38 years. Ms. Bradberry was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville and was a member of the Shelbyville United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm, Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Shelbyville Cemetery, with Rev. Carla Reed officiating.
Survivors include: Sons: Jack Bradberry and wife Billye of Shelbyville, Marcy Bradberry and wife Robin of Shelbyville and Charles Bradberry and wife Sharon of San Augustine. Sister: Norma Jordan of Huntsville.
Grandchildren: Billy Frank Bradberry and wife Reatha, Amanda Wheless and husband Paul, Jennifer Sonmor and husband and Scott and Kevin Rankin and wife Christy.
Great Grandchildren: Jessica Bradberry, Gage Wheless, Bethany Sonmor, Jacklyn Bradberry, Gabrielle Wheless, Madison Rankin, Jace Bradberry, Grayson Wheless and Makenzie Rankin.
Preceded in death by: Husband: Ray Bradberry and Grandson: Jack Bradberry Jr.
Visitatio will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Watson and Sons Funeral Home in Center.

Eloise McMeans, age 92, of Center, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at Shelby Regional Medical Center.
Services will be 10 am, Friday, September 8, 2006 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel in Center with Bro. John Bender officiating, burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 3 pm until 5 pm at Mangum Funeral Home.
She was born on March 20, 1914 to Eddie E. Keasler and Bessie Mae Crawford Keasler. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Center were she attends the Conway Bible Class. She was a hairdresser for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband J.G. McMeans and son Michael McMeans.
Her survivors include: One Brother, Earl Keasler and wife Maxine of Atlanta, Texas. Sister in law, Erna Gurley of New Orleans, La. Nieces and Nephews, Numerous Friends and Family.
Services are under the direction of Mangum Funeral Home in Center, Texas.

Forrest Hailey
Forrest Hailey, 69, of Magee, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2006 in Center. He was born January 13, 1936 in Shelby County, Texas to James Hailey and I.O. Crawford Hailey. He served his country in the United States Military while enlisted in the Air Force. He was a Baptist by faith and member of Goshen Baptist Church. He worked many years and retired as a supervisor from Magna Tech Manufacturing Co. in Magee. Mr. Hailey also served as Sports Editor for the Magee Courier for many years, in following his love for sports he had served as umpire for MS Baseball for 50 years.
Funeral services will be held at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee Mississippi, 10am on Saturday, January 7, 2006. Interment to follow at Magee City Cemetery. Survivors Include: Wife, Geraldine Hailey of Magee, Mississippi, Son, Lance Haynes & wife Jessica of Magee, Mississippi, Grandson, Landon Hayes of Magee, Mississippi, Granddaughter, Addyson Hayes of Magee, Mississippi. Sisters, Lucille Davis of Timpson and Hester Hardy of Carthage. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by Daughter, Lynn Hailey Brown, Brothers, Buck Hailey and Bill Hailey. Sister, Wanda Hailey, his mother and father in law Lester and Bessie Walker and one brother in law, Allen Herchenhan.


Clinton Randall Crawford, 66, of Tenaha, was found deceased at his home on Wednesday July 4, 2007, after a lengthy illness. Memorial Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday July 8, 2007 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday July 8, 2007 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. At the family’s request Mr. Crawford was cremated and his cremains will be interred at the Tennessee Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Crawford was born January 4, 1941 in Shelby County to Curtis and Juanita (Roberts) Crawford. He was a machine operator and a member of the United States National Guard.
He is preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Juanita Crawford.

Son: Spencer Randall Crawford and wife Sarah of Carthage
Daughter: Tammy Marie Mitchum and husband Ray of Nacogdoches

Sister: Tanya Johnson and husband Newton of Joaquin.

Graveside services for Mr. James Cleveland Crawford, age 77 of the Tennessee Community in Shelby County, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2008 at Old Tennessee Cemetery with Brother Buddy Hall officiating under the direction of Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Crawford passed away on Monday morning, September 22, 2008 in San Augustine, Texas.
James Cleveland Crawford was born on August 7, 1931 in the Tennessee Community of Shelby County, Texas to Thomas Temon and Annie Mae Hodges Crawford. Mr. Crawford graduated from Tenaha High School with the class of 1952. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1953 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was transferred to the Reserves in Alaska, serving with the 811th Signal Corp before being honorably discharged 1954. Having learned the trade of communications, Mr. Crawford started working in the civilian sector with Henkel & McCoy and then with GTE where he progressed through field communications to end up in engineering & facilities before retiring after 29 years of employment. He married Evangeline Ketterling Eaves in 1990. Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Temon and Annie Mae Hodges Crawford; five brothers: Forest Elmo, Thomas Katlis, Marvin Joe, John Anderson, and Vester Lee; and four sisters, Nora Robinson, Ruby White, Mary Marie, and Jeannie Fay Crawford.

Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife of 18 years, Evangeline Crawford of Center; two sons, Arnold Crawford and wife Darlene of Baytown and Andrew Crawford and wife Joyce of Friendswood; two daughters, Annie Herndon and husband Ed of Ft Worth and Alice Rogers and husband William of Wichita Falls; eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, and Elizabeth Rogers, Travis and Marshall Herndon, Jennifer, James, Jessica, and Jolene Crawford, and Cameron and Clarke Crawford.
Serving as pallbearers are Mr. Crawford’s grandsons, Christopher, Kyle, James, Cameron, Travis, and Marshall.
